I first met Alicia when she came to a beginning agility class that I was teaching at the Marin Humane Society and wanted to learn agility. I told her it was one of the most fun things ever to do with your dog, and she certainly found this to be true. I will never forget how, after encouraging my students to go to agility fun matches to experience the fun, and she went to one with a friend and came back to class so excited! She told us all about it and brought course maps. I knew then she was hooked for sure! Alicia and Lacy were quick learners who enjoyed every class to the fullest. Watching them run together and seeing Lacy bouncing and flying at her side was pure joy. They participated in several agility demos at Marin Humane Society fund raisers, and I have videos from a couple of them. Sometimes Alicia surprised us in class with a joke or story, one of which I will never forget. Shall I share it here? Maybe it should wait for her memorial, or sit amusingly in my memory. Alicia's spirit, energy and pure joy will live forever in my heart.
